Hollywood, CA - Bear McCreary and company performed the music to the critically acclaimed show Battlestar Galactica to a sold out Roxy theater crowd. Arriving just before 8pm, the line into the Roxy extended well over a block and eager fans awaited entrance. This concert was so popular that another show was added Tuesday night as well (update: James Callis did not attend the Tuesday event but the surprise guest of the night was Kandyse McClure!). The event was hosted by very talented James Callis who plays Baltar on the show.
As a fan of the show, it was an incredible experience hearing the music played live, and it was a special surprise treat to get the chance to hear Callis perform as well. Bear has done an excellent job creating the music for the show, and each season he adds a new dimension to his repertoire.
Brendon, Bear's brother was present and in top form as well as the lovely Raya Yarbrough who does the haunting vocals on the show. The legendary Johnny Vatos was present as well.
Also at the event was a special screening of a documentary dedicated to Bear that was very funny and featured the cast of Battlestar. It was very well done and hopefully it gets posted at SciFi for everyone to see. If you missed the concert, the season 3 cd has recently been released and is something any fan should defninitely check out!
Here is the set list of the event:
