(spoiler warning)

For those who have been pining away for the fourth and final season to begin, the wait is over, and the season is beginning with a big bang. From the opening battle, you realize that the gloves are off and Ron Moore and the writers are taking no prisoners. The action is fast paced, the actors look fresh and have also raised the bar, and the show definitely has succeeded in meeting the expectations that have been building in the long hiatus period.
There were some episodes in the last couple of seasons that felt like just filler episodes, even though they were mixed in with amazing ones. This season has been booked as much faster paced as they have to tie up many loose ends in just twenty episodes. Nothing can be taken for granted this season, as many of the characters are entering uncharted territories and discovering new sides to their characters.
It's nice to see Lee take on a new role out of the military, and Baltar is discovering a new spiritual side of himself. And who's a cylon, who's not a cylon, and who might be something else? The crew has to figure all this out while having to work together trying to find earth. This leads to some interesting scenes where everyone begins to question each other and themselves.
The end of the episode there is a big cliffhanger leaving viewers feeling that a wait of a week is almost going to be as tough as the long wait between seasons! I found the episode most enjoyable, and I'm impressed how the writers can keep the show so fresh and exciting even going into season four. Looking forward to continue the roller coaster ride in next week's episode!
